What is the Mercer Island Girls Soccer Booster Club?

The Mercer Island Girls Soccer Booster Club is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, separate and distinct from ASB.  It exists to support and supplement our girls soccer teams by providing initiatives to build spirit, support coaches in their efforts to improve athlete’s skills, and provide team t-shirts and other equipment as needed.

How does the Booster Club support MIHS Girls Soccer?

  • Equipment replacement/upgrades. In 2024, we plan to purchase 2 set of uniforms (JV and Varsity) and fund a new Veo camera for live streaming games.

  • Team gear, season scholarships, special training and coaching support.

  • Additional bus transportation to/from games as needed.

  • Year End Celebration and Awards

  • MIFC Night/Senior Night

  • Game Programs, posters, calendars, yard signs and communication tools

  • Concessions at all Home games

  • Miscellaneous costs not covered by ASB

How does the Booster Club raise funds?

The Booster Club primarily raises funds from our annual ask from each family of $250+ per player.  In 2023, we raised $18,000 in donations which met our budgeted expenses.

In addition, Booster Club families also organize fundraising projects.  In 2016, all team families participated in a Clothes for the Cause project which raised approximately $840.  In 2017, in partnership with the MIHS Boys Soccer Booster Club, we contributed funds and applied for a grant from the Mercer Island Community Fund in order to purchase plexiglass shelters for our MIHS Soccer players. In 2022, with the help of Head Coach Erin B., the Booster Club offered a summer soccer camp for younger kids in the community.
